A Systematic Review of the Types, Tools, and Characteristics of Technological Solutions in Inclusive Education

Technologies used in inclusive education include digital tools and specialized assistive devices that ensure equal access to education and learning opportunities for students with special educational needs (SEN). Understanding these technologies enables the personalization of teaching methods, the removal of barriers that limit the participation of students with special educational needs in the learning process, and the development of an accessible educational environment for all learners.

This study aims to identify and analyze technologies, digital solutions, and educational practices that support the full participation of students with special educational needs in the educational process. The reporting of the systematic review followed the PRISMA guidelines. A total of 126 studies were reviewed in accordance with the research questions. Publications were retrieved from the Scopus database using three groups of keywords related to digital technologies, inclusive education, and students with special educational needs.

The findings indicate that digital technologies contribute to creating inclusive and accessible learning environments by adapting to the diverse needs of learners. Mobile devices, interactive applications, and augmented reality technologies help students with special educational needs overcome barriers in various educational contexts while facilitating personalized learning. Furthermore, digital technologies promote the development of essential skills, encourage collaboration among students, and enhance both academic achievement and social inclusion. A wide range of technological solutions in inclusive education is aimed at maximizing the potential of every learner across diverse educational systems.
